Nia Moving to Heal

Nia Moving to Heal classes are for everyBODY looking for a gentler way to develop their balance, strength and mobility and have fun. Enjoy soft music and easy-to-follow choreography in a supportive atmosphere of safety and trust. Personalize movements to fit your body’s way, while focusing on pleasure, resulting in improved overall feelings of wellness, regardless of current physical/medical condition. Classes are are designed to meet the needs of those diagnosed with long-term or chronic illness and mobility limitations as well as individuals with short-term personal healing goals for body, mind and emotions. Nia Moving to Heal can be done standing, sitting in a chair, or some combination of both.  Beginners are welcome.

* Enjoy dancing barefoot or feel free to wear indoor shoes if your feet need the extra support.  

* Come in comfortable, layered clothing.

* Please bring a water bottle.

*Please respect a fragrance-free environment.

1st Session: 1/5 - 2/2   5 classes $50.   

2nd Session 2/9 - 3/16  6 classes $60

Pre-registration is recommended.  This class is sponsored by Seattle Parks & Recreation, Lifelong Recreation Program, and is designed for those 50 years and older or those starting or getting back to movement/exercise. The class is located at Meadowbrook Community Center. If you register late, the cost will be prorated.
