Nia is a well-being fitness and lifestyle practice. Through expressive movement - the Body's Way - Nia empowers people to achieve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and well-being. Nia changes people's lives.

Nia blends a range of rhythmic music styles with carefully choreographed hour-long routines. It is the first and foremost 'fusion fitness' program of its kind, inspired by three art forms: The Dance Arts - Jazz, Modern, Duncan; The Healing Arts - Yoga, the work of Moshe Feldenkrais, The Alexander Technique; and The Martial Arts - Aikido, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi. Igniting the Power of the Pelvis Nia Workshop on Whidbey Island

This very special workshop amplifies the power, grace, and pleasure of your pelvic core through interaction, reflection, and a uniquely choreographed Nia routine. Come explore second chakra themes involving money, sex, and personal power, as you deepen your awareness and sensation of your most authentic self.

Susan Tate is a certified black belt Nia instructor and certified Nia Five Stages of Self-Healing instructor who has been teaching Nia since 1999. Susan completed all of her trainings with Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas, co-creators of The Nia Technique. She teaches internationally and has most recently presented this workshop in Belgium, New York City, Washington DC, and Toronto.

Art and Science Dance in Harmony:

Join Nia Faculty Trainer Randee Fox, artist and equestrian educator, for a week-long journey into the White Belt Principles of Nia. You will be immersed in a womb of beauty, nature, creativity and healing energy all week long. This training is the first step in learning to teach Nia or you can come for personal growth and deepen your own movement practice.

Randee Fox is a Nia Faculty Trainer, visual artist, dancer and equestrian educator. She studied art at Art Center College of Design and dance at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz. She has owned her equestrian education, Blue Heron Ranch - Educating Humans for Horses, center since 1997. She is currently developing Nia For Equestrians, an international program for the Nia corporation.

The Location - Blue Heron Ranch Studio, Sammamish, WA:

This training will take place in Sammamish, Washington (17 miles east of downtown Seattle between Redmond and Issaquah) at Blue Heron Ranch Studio, a 1500 square foot moving arts studio with a gorgeous, barefoot only floating sprung wood Brazilian cherry floor with high ceilings, and natural light pouring in. This creative space is situated on a pastoral 9-acre horse ranch and is surrounded by the magnificent Pacific Northwest ecosystem...fir and old growth cedar trees, wetlands and pastures. Meditation path and garden and fresh cool Pacific Northwest air await your arrival!
