Join a supportive circle of Nia colleagues and be mentored by Nia trainer Martha Randall as we study the Art of Movement, Music and Magic. Build on your desire to guide people through a meaningful journey of physical conditioning and self-discovery. New teachers develop confidence, craft and skill by learning and practicing the foundations of teaching.
Seasoned teachers refine and deepen their understanding, building on their craft and receive feedback from peers to deliver the most powerful experience possible. Sleeping Dog Farm is our home for the week. An exquisite circular studio, surrounded by beautiful gardens, welcomes us! The land exudes a nurturing and sacred energy. Accommodations are available on-site.

Nia Trainer, Martha Randall brings over 30 years of experience as a movement artist and teacher to her classes and trainings. Formal training began at York University where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Throughout her movement career Martha has played and studied in an eclectic range of movement modalities including modern dance, ballet, contact improvisation, Gabrielle Roth's 5 Sacred Rhythms, tai chi and karate, yoga and clowning.

Martha is a dance artist who most recently performed with Claudia Moore's Moonhorse Dance Theatre. She often collaborates with musician and sound therapist Gary Diggins who offers his soulful music at times to her classes. She has offered body awareness classes to educators through the Toronto Board of Education and teaches an expressive arts movement course at the Haliburton School of the Arts. She also volunteers Nia classes at Gilda's Club, a support centre for women affected by cancer.

"I love to teach Nia and train people through the White Belt intensive so that we can all grow deeper roots and greater pleasure in the dance of our lives!"
